Let’s Have a Prune Party!
“Win their hearts with prune tarts.“ Yummy.
What I adore about this advertisement are the looks on the kids’ faces. Take a close look at each of them. At first glace they look like they are having fun at a birthday party, but look closer. The blond girl on the left is watching to see if the other kids are going to eat the prune. The middle left boy is thinking, “I’ll eat the icing, but there is no way I’m touching that prune. I can’t wait to make fun of Tommy at school on Monday.“ The boy on the right ponders, “I can’t believe my Mom put prunes on my birthday tarts. Monday is going to suck.“ The girl on the right can’t bear to watch Tommy eat his tart—prunes make her think of her grandfather’s gas.
Four cute kids at a party with tarts and this is the BEST shot the photographer could get for this ad. If only they had Photoshop in the 1950s!
